Function and Specialization
Tim specializes in information, communication and technology (e.g., software, SaaS, and payments technology) and healthcare and business services (e.g., healthcare IT and business consulting services).
Background
Prior to forming Argon, Tim was the partner-in-charge of the technology and life sciences practice with a large regional accounting and consulting firm. Tim also worked in the private equity and audit practices of KPMG and Arthur Andersen for 10 years. In his final year with KPMG, he supported certain lead partners in the private equity practice and was selected to serve as the global audit leader for one of the Firm’s global private equity accounts.
Professional and industry experience
Tim has served eight of Georgia’s “top ten” software and technology services companies (as ranked in the Atlanta Business Chronicle) during his time in Atlanta. He leads projects for clients ranging from multi-location, international, public companies to high-growth private-equity backed clients, advising clients on accounting change, US GAAP, M&A, and the filing of US capital market registration statements while ensuring compliance with applicable SEC guidelines.
Tim is a subject matter expert on various accounting matters in the software and FinTech sectors, and has assisted clients with the application of complex US GAAP associated with business combinations and other unusual contract arrangements, structuring customer arrangements to mitigate risk and meet financial reporting objectives, and the implementation of testing required under section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Tim helped implement the adoption of several new accounting standards at several companies within the Southeast. He has served as a consultant for revenue recognition, leases, stock compensation, and accounting for business combinations – and has been the primary consultant supporting companies through their restatement process and public stock offerings.
